For many years I never paid attention to special dates, celebrations or any other type of ritualistic tradition, perhaps because I was a very practical person and for a long time addicted to speed. The little meaning he attributed to them amounted to a waste of time. Neither my birthdays nor those of others attracted much attention to me, except that which a supposed "political correctness" imposes on us.
Now I see this issue from a different perspective, I realize that rhythms are important and that we are in tune with something bigger. The cycles of nature, of life and death, and many others, exist and have an impact on us.
The rituals that are associated with our culture are also, on a larger scale, linked to the essence of our human condition. The meanings in each country or language may seem different to us, but the basis of their existence comes from a common place, supported by our need to understand ourselves as part of this planet and this universe.
Understanding this, even if in an intuitive and rudimentary way, and without much knowledge, I gradually incorporate meanings for each of these special moments into my life.
They are very much my formats, and they do not necessarily correspond to those usually established, but the perception and feelings they transmit to me give meaning and depth to my days and my own cycles.
